OPPORTUNITIES

The Lower Valley Scholars Foundation has established many different initiatives that will provide for the educational and professional needs of all students from the Lower Valley. These services are all of no cost, and only require the students to sign up, reach out, or apply, depending on the opportunity.

01

DIRECT MENTORSHIP

We assist first-generation, low-income, and minority students from the Lower Valley area of El Paso with applying to colleges and scholarships to further advance their academic careers. Through direct mentorship, we are able to assist students individually and in a more dedicated way.

02

WORKSHOPS

Each month, the Board of Directors schedules at least two monthly workshops. These workshops are centered on skills and knowledge that are important for higher education and the workplace. Each workshop is hosted by a Director or a highly qualified Guest Speaker.

03

MONTHLY NEWSLETTER

Every month, we release a Monthly Newsletter. This newsletter contains available scholarships and their deadlines, scholarship databases, college application deadlines, workshop details, and any other additional opportunities or resources that are helpful to students.

04

support through socIAL MEDIA

The Board of Directors is available at all times to assist any student from the Lower Valley. If you have any questions about college applications, scholarships, professional opportunities, or any other skills important to you and your educational and professional future, we will help you out. All you have to do is send a message to any of our social media accounts and a member of the Board of Directors will get back to you with an answer and any helpful resources.

05

SCHOLARSHIPS

Every year, the Lower Valley Scholars Foundation will give out scholarships to students attending an accredited 4-year institution. The scholarship will be based on a holistic review, accounting for need as well as a student's merit. More information about award amounts and application dates will be provided in the coming months.

DROP-IN APPOINTMENTS

If you have specific questions that you'd like to chat about face-to-face, feel free to schedule a drop-in appointment! A modification of our original drop-in hours initiative, this allows you to get one-on-one help over Zoom with one of the Directors. Just select a day and time from our Calendly, fill in your information, and we're good! We are looking forward to chatting with you!
